- February 25, 2008 - Injectronics Installs Manufacturing Cell
Injectronics Corp. recently completed the addition of a new automated contract manufacturing cell, which was installed in a 2,500-square-foot white room.
Sales and Marketing Director John Schwab said the company added a PAS automated membrane staking station, a Leica automatic wax filling unit and a Sencorp foil-sealing machine as part of the new cell.
Schwab said the new setup combines injection molding, thermoforming, assembly and shrink-wrapping to make a complete product for an unnamed customer. The cell is for a disposal test kit as part of a system allowing small-tissue samples to be processed for examination.
“I think the integration of thermoforming was a catalyst to build the final kit,” said John Schwab. He noted that the cell builds on the abilities of a Sencorp thermoforming machine the firm installed in March 2007.
Injectronics also added three employees for the new work cell.
He said sales have grown more than 50 percent since 2006. Injectronics also received a Vendor of the Year Award from XpresspaX Inc. of Westborough, Mass. It makes data storage containers for the company.
Injectronics has an 80,000-square-foot headquarters building in Clinton, plus a 20,000-square-foot facility in Westborough. The company is ISO 13485 registered.
- September 25, 2007 - Injectronics' Investment & Continued Expansion
Injectronics Corp. has started operating two new high-speed Sumitomo injection molding machines in its revamped ISO Class 8 clean room in Westborough, as part of $2 million expansion project. “It will all be completed by Thanksgiving,” said John Schwab, Director of Sales and Marketing. He said the makeover meant expanding the building by 20 percent and installing two all-electric 300-ton machines in August. The addition boosted the number of Sumitomo injection molding machines to five at the facility. The crowning part of the expansion will be a lining system for cap enclosures for a diagnostic disposable product. He declined to disclose the maker of the system, but said it is a custom-made, proprietary line. Schwab said the investment will support integration of two different lines of high-volume diagnostic disposables for the medical market. “The entire Westborough facility is now a Class 8 clean room and will serve as a complement to the Clinton building.” He said. The Clinton-based company is spending about $3 million this year to support its clean room initiatives. It completed a $1 million renovation in March at its main facility in Clinton, in which a highly automated Sencorp Series 2200 thermoforming machine was enclosed in the clean room. In addition to medical-related design and molding, Injectronics serves consumer and electronic markets. The company is ISO 13485-certified. It uses automated production cells with vision and packaging systems to support high-volume injection molding, contract manufacturing and thermoforming.
- April 18, 2007 - Injectronics Invests in Thermoforming
Injectronics Corporation, an ISO 13485 registered company, announced today that they have expanded their capabilities by investing in new, state of the art, Thermoforming equipment. This technology compliments its current injection molding and contract manufacturing expertise.
Injectronics identified a need to compliment its existing injection molding and contract manufacturing business with final contract packaging. To that end, Injectronics' investment in this technology will allow existing and new major medical and consumer products customers to fulfill their molding and thermoformed packaging needs with one company. This capability expansion supports an existing full product suite of capabilities and positions Injectronics perfectly to support our customers' requirements.
This highly automated thermoforming equipment, which incorporates a six-axis articulating robot and the most up-to-date technology available, was recently installed in a new FDA Class 8 Clean Room. Injectronics completed construction of this new Clean Room in March 2007 in preparation for several new programs launching that will require molded components, contract assembly and final kitting or case packaging using thermoformed tray systems.
Injectronics Corporation, a Massachusetts based company, provides design and manufacturing solutions for medical device and disposable products. Injectronics' facilities in Massachusetts offer redundancy and risk management opportunities while providing automated production cells utilizing vision and packaging solutions supporting high volume injection molding and complex contract manufacturing in multiple FDA Class 8 Clean Rooms.
